Indie micro development team NVYVE® Studios today during GDC 2016 unveiled the first ever shown alpha footage of their new open world utopian sci-fi survival horror FPS game P.A.M.E.L.A.

In P.A.M.E.L.A. you are awoken from cryosleep to see that the utopia of Eden has fallen far from grace, ridden with death and decay, the player, making use of unconventional tools alongside the AI Overseer  of Eden, Pamela, a real time inventory system akin to Deadspace with the familiarity of System Shock, you will be able to build structures to build a safe haven, explore Eden to find materials and find energy for your tools in a world with a finite supply of energy adding strategy to how you approach each situation, whilst uncovering the mystery of what happened to Eden as you try to survive against it’s corrupted inhabitants, the afflicted.

Also according to Nvyve Studio Director, Adam Simonar, expanding on the gameplay of P.A.M.E.L.A. :

“The alpha gameplay video provides players with a deeper insight into the world of P.A.M.E.L.A. Beginning as the player awakens from cryosleep, it showcases the first few moments of the player’s experience as they scavenge for supplies, weapons, and defend themselves against the afflicted citizens of Eden, In a completely open and non-linear world, no two players’ experiences will be the same as they struggle against randomly generated dangers and items. Even sanctuary behind the walls of their fortifications can only last so long, as power is finite and constantly depleting.”

The game has a lot of potential and so far looks promising from what was shown and discussed, and I have a feeling, if you loved System Shock back in the day, and are chomping on the bid for a new sci-fi horror game, P.A.M.E.L.A. is a game to keep your eyes on.
