In a press release published today, 3D Realms (the publisher behind some of PC gaming’s classics such as Wolfenstein 3D, Commander Keen and Duke Nukem) announced that Bombshell, the action-shooter developed by Interceptor Entertainment, will hit the shelves on January 29th 2016. The title will be published on PC through GoG and Steam. A console version, both for Microsoft’s XBOX One and for Sony’s Playstation 4 will be released at some point during 2016.
In Bombshell, you play as Global Defense Force Colonel Shelly “Bombshell” Harrison. After losing her whole team and a limb in an incident, the colonel is offered a new chance when a private military contractor offers her a contract and a mechanical prosthesis for her missing arm.
Bombshell will be available as a digital-download only and will come in two editions: the basic one, sold in the U.S. for $34.99 and a Digital Deluxe Edition priced at 39.99 and including several additional items such as the Official Bombshell Soundtrack by Andrew Hulshult, a digital art-book, world map overviews, and early BETA access to the Bombshell FPS Prequel, a retro-style first-person shooter that will be sold separately in 2016. The game can be found on Steam here.
