Ready to be wowed? Warner Bros. and Rocksteady Studios have released a new trailer for Batman: Arkham Knight. The trailer is cool and all, but within it we get our first look at an all-new mode for the game. And it’s a doozy.

The new trailer, titled “All Who Follow You”, is appropriately named. The video is star studded as far as allies go. It turns out there are plenty who follow The Dark Knight. We get a glimpse of Commissioner Gordon, Oracle, Alfred, Robin, Catwoman, Nightwing, Azrael and more. But here’s the kicker – at least Robin, Catwoman and Nightwing will be playable with the newly implemented “Dual Play” mode.

“you will bring death to all who follow you.”

And this isn’t some alternate mode to just kill time, either. With Dual Play mode, players will be able to switch to Robin, Nightwing and Catwoman on the fly in the game’s actual story mode. Just as Grand Theft Auto V allowed players to switch between Michael, Franklin and Trevor, in Batman: Arkham Knight you too will have the ability to choose between heroes. Here’s a snippet from Warner Bros. press release:

“For the first time ever, watch Batman: Arkham Knight‘s exciting new “Dual Play” feature in action, which will allow players to seamlessly switch between The Dark Knight and his allies including Robin, Nightwing, and Catwoman in FreeFlow Combat.”

It’s a bit vague at this point exactly how it works. Whether you can freely run around the city as Robin, Nightwing and Catwoman is unclear, but that would probably hinder the ability to properly tell the game’s story. Odds are the above trio are scattered throughout Gotham and you can use them to aid you in combat should they be near. I’m sure we’ll have more details soon, as the mode is likely to be showcased at E3 or possibly even sooner.

One thing is for sure, within the trailer Scarecrow utters the line “you will bring death to all who follow you.” This makes me a tad bit nervous for Bruce’s buddies… Checkout the new trailer below and give us your thoughts in the comments. Batman: Arkham Knight lands June 23rd.
