Blizzard has announced via their career postings site that they are hiring an Art Director for an “Unannounced Project”. They don’t exactly state what the project is, but they did leave a pretty substantial clue that it could be Diablo related.

The posting begins with the following: “Blizzard Entertainment, the developer of the most epic games in the world, is seeking an exceptionally skilled and passionate art director to help develop Blizzard’s next hit game!” It then goes on to list exactly what an ideal candidate would be for the position.

The interesting portion of the post comes towards the bottom of the listing. After listing  job responsibilities and requirements, Blizzard states what would be a plus for applicants:

Pluses: A passion for games with a deep understanding of the Diablo franchise

“A passion for games with a deep understanding of the Diablo franchise.” Well, that makes you wonder what franchise this “Unannounced Project” would fall under, doesn’t it? Diablo III released May 15th, 2012, and its sole expansion, Diablo III: Reaper of Souls, came out roughly two years after that on March 25, 2014.

It’s possible that Blizzard is preparing for a second expansion. Or perhaps development is gearing up for Diablo IV? Let your speculative imaginations run wild!

Growing up a 90's kid, Jeff found his love for gaming during Nintendo's heyday. Because of that, you could call him a "Nintendo Fanboy" (albeit a rational one) to this day. Outside of his passion for the gaming industry, he’s also an avid sports enthusiast (New York Giants and Philadelphia Phillies mainly) and enjoys quality/popular TV shows and movies.
