The Dark Tower

When your movie is poised to launch in under four months and the world hasn’t even seen a trailer yet, you probably need more time. This may or may not be the case for The Dark Tower.

The Dark Tower Awaits is reporting that the movie stemming from Steven King’s Dark Tower series has been pushed back once again. It was originally slated for February 17, 2017. It was delayed and then scheduled to release on July 28th. And now, it’s being rescheduled once more. But just by a week.

Again, we’re ending March here, and we’ve yet to see an officially released trailer for the film. It’s possible that Director Nikolaj Arcel and his team need a bit more time to polish things up. But moving the film back a week really doesn’t do much as far as additional time goes. Regardless, it’s happening.

Columbia Pictures has swapped The Dark Tower from July 28th and moved it to the next weekend, August 4th. It has flipped positions with Columbia’s other upcoming flick, The Emoji Movie.

It’s too early to tell whether The Dark Tower is poised to dominate or not. It’s got two excellent male leads in Idris Elba and Matthew McConaughey. Not to mention a ravenous fan base hoping the team nails this retelling. One way or another, we’ll find out August 4th.

Growing up a 90's kid, Jeff found his love for gaming during Nintendo's heyday. Because of that, you could call him a "Nintendo Fanboy" (albeit a rational one) to this day. Outside of his passion for the gaming industry, he’s also an avid sports enthusiast (New York Giants and Philadelphia Phillies mainly) and enjoys quality/popular TV shows and movies.
