Games with Gold - December 2016

Another month, another batch of freeish games coming our way. Courtesy of Xbox Live’s Games with Gold program, we have 4 new respectable entries to download. Let’s take a look at what we’re getting.

Microsoft Has Gifts for Us in December Too.

The month is probably highlighted by the Xbox One release of Sleeping Dogs Definitive Edition. Sleeping Dogs was initially released as a Xbox 360 Games with Gold entry a while back. December’s release, however, is the Definitive Edition for Xbox One. It’s totally not the same, you guys…

The game was sleeper hit, and the Definitive Edition was a must play for those that didn’t get a crack at the original. You can download Sleeping Dogs: Definitive Edition on Xbox One at any point December.

Outlast is the second Xbox One entry available as of this month. Free to download from December 16th through January 15th, Outlast is a first-person survival horror title that released in 2014. You play as freelance investigative journalist, Miles Upshur, who is tasked with investigating a remote psychiatric hospital that lies deep in the mountains of Lake County, Colorado. Outlast currently resides with Metascore of 80.

On the Xbox 360 side of things we have Outland to look forward to.  The Xbox blog describes it as a title in which you “bbridge the gap between balance and chaos, or doom the world to destruction in Outland, a polarity-shifting 2D platformer. With a gorgeous visual style and unique light-shifting gameplay system, you’ll be wowed by the art while you adapt to a constantly changing world! While it’s an older title, releasing in 2011, it reviewed quite well with a Metascore of 84.

Our final Games with Gold title for the month comes to the Xbox 360 and Xbox One in the form of Burnout: Paradise. It was the beloved racing title from 2008 with a great 88 Metascore. It can be your for free this month thanks to Microsoft.

Check out the glory trailer below. And check back next month when we report back the goodness Microsoft will bring courtesy of Games with Gold in December.

Growing up a 90's kid, Jeff found his love for gaming during Nintendo's heyday. Because of that, you could call him a "Nintendo Fanboy" (albeit a rational one) to this day. Outside of his passion for the gaming industry, he’s also an avid sports enthusiast (New York Giants and Philadelphia Phillies mainly) and enjoys quality/popular TV shows and movies.
