Microsoft Studios has announced a new exclusive coming to Xbox One – Recore. The trailer that was on display at their E3 conference looked very promising, and the pedigree from whom it comes from is even more so.

Early in the trailer it was revealed that Keiji Inafune, along with members from the original Metroid Prime team, have collaborated to bring Recore to the Xbox One. The title’s lead character is a woman who is actually very reminiscent of Daisy Ridley’s character in the upcoming Star Wars movie.

She adventures through a desolate desert style area alongside her robotic dog assistant. They stumble upon a large decommissioned robot, when suddenly a couple of other robots confront them. Each enemy robot has a large red orb at their center which appears to be powering them. Our protagonist’s dog also has a large blue orb that appears to be doing the same for it.

She shoots at them with her rife but is unsuccessful. Then her robodog runs into the middle of the chaos and appears to self destruct itself to take out the enemies. Nothing is left but the blue orb once the dust settles. She picks it up, places it inside of the previously seen decommissioned robot, and it awakens.

“Welcome back, buddy” she says. And they continue on with their adventure.

Recore appears to be a spot on name. Again, it’s exclusive to Xbox One, and is headed our way in Spring 2016. We’ll hope to have additional details soon, until then, checkout the trailer below.
