So it’s official! Announced today during their Smash Brothers live stream, both Roy from Fire Emblem and Ryu from Street Fighter are making an appearance as downloadable characters for Super Smash Bros. Wii U and 3DS and are available now. That’s right, NOW!

Ryu is priced at $6.99 (or your regional equivalent) and comes with his iconic stage from the classic Street Fighter II, and Roy is priced at $5.99.

While this is great news for those who are fans of both Roy and Ryu, Nintendo gave a warning that their servers may be hit hard as a result of the announcements. However it will most likely be only temporary.
Nintendo has some work to do…

It should also be noted for those who are interested, that Nintendo ha also announced that both Roy and Ryu will get their own Amiibo figures, along with the rest of the 51 characters. Nintendo also announced that their the Suzaku Castle stage will also be sold as a separate download for those who don’t wish to buy Ryu, which is nice for those who don’t. There will also be a new Elimination-style Tournament mode to be released later on in the year around August, and there will also be a new replay feature that will allow you to post replays directly to YouTube.

The announcement comes with official trailers for both characters, showing off some moves, specials, and smash attacks for both.
