While some companies are bowing out of the toys-to-life field, others are doubling down on the Endeavour in a big way. Traveller’s Tales and Warner Bros. Interactive have put out a new E3 trailer for Lego Dimensions, and it’s a doozy. The highlights of which are a plethora of new characters – and some of them huge – that will be headed toward the game this coming year.

The big reveal here is Harry Potter. It wasn’t really a matter of if, but when for Mr. Potter’s inclusion. In the midst of the trailer we also get a glimpse at He-Who-Must-Not-Be-Named as well. There’s sure to be a handful of others from the franchise that will surely make their inclusion in the game too.

With the Ghostbusters movie coming out in a matter of weeks, it’s no surprise that the quartet of ladies from that film are featured here as well. In other movie tie ins, we also get confirmation of an odd one in Tom Cruise’s Ethan Hunt from Mission: Impossible. There’s a cute scene from the trailer where Hunt drops from a wire above to tickle an unsuspecting Scooby Doo.

E.T. phones home in the new clip, and there’s a Goonies inclusion too with Sloth in his Superman outfit. Adventure Time is another franchise here that should excite its fans, with Jake and Finn making an epic entrance in the midst of the trailer. We have more Dr. Who here, and a glimpse of Mr. T driving the A-Team van. Finally, the revelations peter out with Gizmo from Gremlins. Phew…

That is until after the splash screen where we see Gollum going after his “Precious”, only to be outdone by a speeding Sonic the Hedgehog – avid gold ring lover himself. This game is going to be packed!

It’s impressive how many big name additions are revealed in this Lego Dimensions E3 trailer. The companies have announced that there’s more to come during the show next week, so we’ll keep our eye open for more news. Until then, enjoy the trailer.

Growing up a 90's kid, Jeff found his love for gaming during Nintendo's heyday. Because of that, you could call him a "Nintendo Fanboy" (albeit a rational one) to this day. Outside of his passion for the gaming industry, he’s also an avid sports enthusiast (New York Giants and Philadelphia Phillies mainly) and enjoys quality/popular TV shows and movies.
