E3 2018 will take place between June 12th and June 14th, but the Entertainment software association (ESA) has released the logo for next year’s expo pictured above.
This is the first time in years that the logo has changed. In 2014, CNBC reported that the ESA was open to changing the venue.
“E3 is a world-class show that deserves a world-class venue,” said Michael Gallagher at a media dinner. “The Los Angeles Convention Center is no longer a top-tier property.”
Last year E3 opened up to the public for the first time, but the result was a mixed bag. The convention floor was filled with long lines that cluttered the halls for developers and press running to appointments. It was basically a mini-pax in June.
It will be interesting to see if the ESA changes public badges, or allows a press day similar to Gamescom in Germany.
