Update: Bethesda has confirmed that the PC version of Fallout 4 will not have any limits to its framerate or resolution, unlike the two console versions. We’ve updated the story to reflect this.

Original story:

Fallout 4 will be running at 1080p resolution and 30 frames per second on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.

This news was confirmed by Digital Spy at E3 this year.

The biggest news here appears to be that the game is pushing for 1080p on Xbox One, despite other games like the The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt only being at 900p.

While Bethesda announced that the reason they have dialed back on Fallout 4’s graphical fidelity is to implement new systems such as power armor customization.

The news isn’t the most surprising in regards to console, as the next generation has failed to deliver 1080p 60 fps on multiple occasions and tried to justify their shortcomings.

Fallout 4 will be releasing later this year on PS4, Xbox One and PC.
