Today, Bethesda Game Studios has revealed that the upcoming Fallout 4 will not have a level cap. You will also be able to wonder the wasteland after you complete the game’s main campaign as well.
This is a first for the Fallout series. Fallout 3 originally had a set ending. It wasn’t until Bethesda released the great Broken Steel expansion DLC that they added the ability to continue your adventures in the wasteland after the game’s ending.
Both Fallout 3 and Fallout: New Vegas had level-caps that the player had to adhere to. Those caps were increased later on with DLC.
Here’s what Bethesda had to say on Twitter:
To our fans who’ve asked: Fallout 4 doesn’t end when the main story is over and there is no level cap. You can keep playing and leveling.

This is great news for Fallout fans. It seems like Fallout 4 will follow more of the Skyrim approach of not handcuffing players to a level-cap. This means you’ll be able to wonder and level-up until your hearts content.
Fallout 4 is scheduled to release on November 10 and will be available on PS4, Xbox One, and PC.
