Anita Sarkeesian, feminist media critic has released a new series titled, “Positive Female Characters in Video Games,” which is a part of Feminist Frequency. The first episode focuses on how Sword & Sworcery employs action adventure game tropes, and suggests how developers can tell stories from a women’s point-of-view.

 Here is the video

“When archetypal fantasy heroes in games are overwhelmingly portrayed as men, it reinforces the idea that men’s experiences are universal, and that women’s experiences are gendered,” says Anita Sarkeesian.

At the end of the episode, Anita Sarkeesian teases that the next installment in the series will focus Ubisoft’s Beyond Good and Evil.
