Well, folks, this is it – at least as far as Super Smash Bros. Nintendo Direct’s go . Nintendo of America’s Twitter account has confirmed when we are getting that Super Smash Bros. focused Nintendo Direct we were promised, and it appears it will be the last of its kind:

They’ve dubbed it as the “final video presentation dedicated to Super Smash Bros.” But that doesn’t really indicate that this is the end of Nintendo’s efforts on the game. I’m taking this to only mean exactly what it says, that this is the last Super Smash Bros. centric Direct. I’m sure we’ll see bits and pieces of news for the title trickled throughout future Nintendo Directs.

Besides, Nintendo polled its Super Smash Bros. audience last year for their ideal future combatants in the brawler. I highly doubt we’ll be getting all of the characters chosen within this one Nintendo Direct. The tweet says that “Masahiro Sakurai will provide details on Cloud and more in this worldwide broadcast.” In addition to Cloud, I’m sure we’ll examine his Final Fantasy VII based stage. But there has to be at least one additional character revealed, right? As well as possibly a new game mode or two?

We’ll find out what Sakurai has in store for us on Tuesday, December 15th. The Super Smash Bros. Nintendo Direct will air at 2:00 p.m. PT, 5:00 p.m. ET. We’ll deliver you the goods as soon as we have them.

Growing up a 90's kid, Jeff found his love for gaming during Nintendo's heyday. Because of that, you could call him a "Nintendo Fanboy" (albeit a rational one) to this day. Outside of his passion for the gaming industry, he’s also an avid sports enthusiast (New York Giants and Philadelphia Phillies mainly) and enjoys quality/popular TV shows and movies.
