Although it lost some momentum from a leak earlier in the week, EA dropped the full Star Wars: Battlefront II trailer. And at it’s centerpiece is the feature that most fans felt was lacking from its predecessor: a fully fledged single player campaign.
“I Waited 30 Years for This.”
The Star Wars: Battlefront II story revolves around an Emperial Storm Trooper named Iden Versio. Like Finn within the main Star Wars films, she too appears to be a Trooper who will eventually find redemption. Here’s EA’s official synopsis of the single player portion:
“Forge a new path as Iden Versio, commander of Inferno Squad—an Imperial special forces unit equally lethal on the ground and in space. Encounter many of Star Wars ‘ greatest characters in a story of revenge, betrayal, and redemption that spans 30 years.”
In an effort to squeeze as many characters as normatively possible in the game, we can expect Versio to begin as a Storm Trooper for the Empire. Then, throughout the game (and apparently 30 years), she begins her trek towards redemption. And probably towards the cast of The Force Awakens and The Last Jedi as well.
We see Versio on Endor as the Death Star explodes. The Emperor voices over the trailer as she then runs into Luke Skywalker as well. It’s a good taste of what’s to come from the game, and we’re excited to see more. Star Wars: Battlefront II releases on November 17th.
