A game that is hopefully poised to make a run at many trophies during next years The Game Awards was on full display tonight. Aaryn Flynn, General Manager of Bioware, hit the stage briefly tonight. He introduced the world to five glorious minutes of Mass Effect: Andromeda gameplay.
”A Brand New Epic Sci-Fi Adventure Set in a Vast Explorable Galaxy.”
Per the video’s intro, in Mass Effect: Andromeda you take on the role of a Pathfinder. You’re “part explorer, part soldier, part guide. And it’s your mission to find a new home for humanity.” Thus is the crux of our new Mass Effect saga. This entry takes place hundreds of years after the events of Mass Effect 3. Humans are once again setting foot back into the outer reaches of the galaxy, which is essentially all unknown to us.
The new footage looked… well it looked a lot like Mass Effect. Mass Effect: Andromeda doesn’t appear to be shaking up the formula much. Which could be a good or bad thing depending upon whom you ask. I did see a glance of a Arkham style Detective segment though. And a playable MAKO vehicle seems to make another attempt this go around. I’m sure Bioware has much more up its sleeves to show us.
Mass Effect: Andromeda should be hitting our galaxy at some point in the next six lunar cycles.
