It was a fun idea back in 2013 when Microsoft announced that Killer Instinct would be reemerging as a free-to-play launch game for Xbox One. Nearly three season of the game later and it’s still going strong. So strong, in fact, that Microsoft has decided to bring a prominent 1st party character in to join the fun.
The Arbiter of Halo 2 fame has been confirmed as the second guest character to enter the Killer Instinct mix. Rash from Battletoads was announced at Gamescom last year. A new trailer accompanied the announcement, and I have to say, the Arbiter looks quite bad ass. It appears as though he utilizes both a rifle as well as his trusty energy sword. He also looks adept and close-quarters-combat and can throw a plasma grenade into the mix here and there too.
Season 3 of Killer Instinct looks to be bringing at least 5 new characters into the mix. The aforementioned Rash and Arbiter, in addition to Kim Wu, Tusk and Gargos from Killer Instinct 2. Season 3 of the title will be hitting PC in addition to Xbox One sometime in March.
