Project DIVA X

SEGA announced today that Hatsune Miku fans will get a bonus for picking up her latest game right after release. Those that either pre-order or get a first run copy of Hatsune Miku: Project DIVA X will receive a pouch that is big enough to carry sunglasses. Physical copies of both the PlayStation 4 and Vita version of the game will come with the pouch, which features the symbols of five auras that are seen in-game.

If you’re not looking for something to carry sunglasses in, then you’ll be glad to know that SEGA also announced some new details for the upcoming rhythm game. The pricing details were finally announced, and the game will be $49.99 on PlayStation 4. It won’t have a lowered price on Vita, though, as it will cost $39.99 for a handheld version.

The Japanese publisher also confirmed the game’s release date, as the Miku-natics (this name probably won’t catch on) can pick it up August 30. To celebrate this announcement, a new trailer for Hatsune Miku: Project DIVA X was released.

While the game is coming in August, it will also be one of the first games to support PlayStation VR. Project DIVA X‘s Concert Editor will allow players to watch their own customizable concerts in virtual reality. Once PlayStation VR launches in October, the rhythm title will receive a free update that makes it VR compatible.

Like previous releases in the Hatsune Miku series, Project DIVA X will let fans play the popular vocaloid’s music, and interact with the virtual diva. This time around there will be an additional hook. There are 5 Clouds that make up the worl, and they each possess a different aura (Classic, Cool, Cute, Elegant and Quirky). Each Cloud will give players different challenge conditions for songs.

Hatsune Miku: Project DIVA X releases for PlayStation 4 and Vita on August 30.

Tyler has enjoyed video games, both large and small, ever since he was a child with a Sega Genesis controller in hand. When he isn’t playing through strange retro games like Snoopy’s Silly Sports Spectacular, he can be found meditating under a waterfall to grow his beard or eating pizza. Probably the latter.
