Hitman Delayed Into 2016

Choo, Choo! All aboard the delay train!

The next game in the long running Hitman franchise has been delayed. Originally supposed to launch in December, the game is now scheduled for a March 2016 release.

IO-Interactive, the games developer has stated that this Hitman is “the biggest venture” the studio has undertaken both in scope and game content. The studio says that the extra time will allow for more of that content to be available at launch.

“These few extra months will mean we can add more to the launch content of the game, more than we had originally planned, and then follow with a tighter frequency of updates, which ultimately will create a better game for everyone. And in the end, that’s what we’re all looking for.”

This is good news! IO-Interactive is trying something different with the upcoming Hitman game. They are essentially breaking it down into a “season.” This means the company was set to release about a mission a month for a set period of time. This raised a lot of questions from fans who worried how much content would be in the initial release. It seems IO has taken this to heart and is really going to hammer down the logistics of this large undertaking.
I’ll be interested to see that final product when it ships (for now) in March 2016.
