If you plan on sending the North Koreans packing in Homefront: The Revolution, you’re going to need some allies. And with the reveal of the title’s new Resistance Mode, you’re going to get just that – just not right away.
Revealed by Deep Silver today via a new trailer, Resistance Mode is described as a new four player cooperative online mode for Homefront: The Revolution. Within it, you’ll be tasked with forming “a Resistance Cell with your friends online and wage guerrilla warfare against the KPA military in thrilling narrative-driven missions across occupied Philadelphia. Customize your personal roster of Freedom Fighters as you and your teammates go from rookie civilians to battle hardened soldiers. Unlock new skills, earn weapon blueprints, rare equipment and combat gear to upgrade.”
Hasit Zala, game director on Homefront: The Revolution, had this to say about the new mode:
“Homefront: The Revolution is this team’s most ambitious project yet. In addition to our epic 30-plus hour single-player campaign, we expect to launch Resistance Mode with 12 Missions, packed with re-playability, and hope to release another 20 Missions within the first year. To ensure our community can always play together, all Resistance Mode Missions will be free to download.”
So apparently Resistance Mode won’t be launching with the core game in May, but instead will be a free content download at some point in the 12 months following. Deep Silver also mentions that pre-ordering the game will entitle players to the “Revolutionary Pack” which includes additional skins and instant unlocks for use within Homefront: The Revolution story campaign.
Homefront: The Revolution begins the rebellion on May 17th for Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and PC.
