J.J. Abrams is determined to make me love him in every way I can. He’s partly behind the original vision behind one of my favorite television shows ever in Lost. He has a new Star Wars film coming out in a month which has the world buzzing. And now he’s jumping into the video game industry.

ChAIR, the studio behind Shadow Complex and the Infinity Blade series, has announced a collaboration with Abrams in the form of their newly announced “action strategy” game, Spyjinx. Utilizing the Unreal 4 engine, Spyjinx is a “unique mix of action strategy gameplay, dynamic world building and RPG character development – all set in a thrilling, treacherous world of espionage.”

Abrams’ company, Bad Robot, has been working hand-in-hand with ChAIR throughout development thus far on Spyjinx. J.J. himself sat down with Donald Mustard from ChAIR and took some questions from Geoff Keighley to elaborate more on the project:

ChAIR intends on having Spyjinx ready for a 2016 release on PC and mobile devices. The studio is currently accepting signups for a beta that is planned to launch early next year.

Growing up a 90's kid, Jeff found his love for gaming during Nintendo's heyday. Because of that, you could call him a "Nintendo Fanboy" (albeit a rational one) to this day. Outside of his passion for the gaming industry, he’s also an avid sports enthusiast (New York Giants and Philadelphia Phillies mainly) and enjoys quality/popular TV shows and movies.
