Games with Gold - July

Major Nelson has gone ahead and filled us in as to what titles will be featured on Xbox Live for next month’s Games with Gold promotion. Get Pool Nation FX while you can! It’s (finally) gone after June 30th.

On the Xbox 360 side of things we are looking at two great, but albeit, date titles. On the starting block for July is Plants vs. Zombies. Originally released on the Xbox Live Arcade back in late 2010, Plants vs. Zombies is a modern classic. Sitting at an impressive 89 on Metacritic, the game is free to download for your Xbox 360 through July 15th.

Continuing with the Gears of War trend Microsoft has been on of late, Gears of War 3 is your free title for the second half of July. The Fenix and friends trilogy wraps up in the 3rd entry, leading way to the prequel Gears of War: Judgment that was a free download back in April. Gears of War 3 also has an impressive Metacritic score, sitting at 91. Gears of War 3 will be free via Games with Gold from July 16th through July 31st.

For Xbox One, we’re starting off with a bit a rehash. Assassin’s Creed: Black Flag is the free game the first portion of the month. Black Flag was of course one of the Xbox 360’s free games in April. No bother, the game is great, and a worthy (free addition) to any Xbox One catalogue thanks to Games with Gold.

Rounding out July’s Games with Gold for Xbox One is So Many Me. The game initially released on PC back in 2014 and averaged a 78 on Metacritic. The title’s description is as follows:

“Control Dave and his many clones to explore, solve puzzles, and take on enemies in the beautiful world of Xio. Unleash your team spirit by combining your Me’s to help you solve puzzles and bring the fight to your enemies.”

Set your reminders folks and get your free games. We’ll be back next month to tell you what’s free in August thanks to Games with Gold.
