Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Remastered

When news broke that Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Remastered would be a pack-in with Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare, fans were rightfully excited. Modern Warfare arguably put the Call of Duty franchise into the stratosphere (literally, actually) that it’s in today. So, with just a bit over a month left from (the official) release, it’s time to get excited. Beginning with the recently released Launch Trailer.

“Hey Everyone, Come and See How Good I Look!”

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Remastered come equipped with everything you would expect from the original. You take on the role of Sergeant John “Soap” MacTavish as he begins his first days as a member of the British Army Special Air Service. Soap and his squad get caught up in the midst of a Russian civil war. This drives the plot of the game as the SAS attempt to take down the Russian Ultra-nationalists and the terrorists Khaled Al-Asad and Imran Zakhaev.

The iconic shooter is loaded with poignant moments that resonate throughout the rest of the Modern Warfare franchise. And as you watch the launch trailer, they all come flooding back you – just like they do our hero Soap here. Activision boasts that the game is “all remastered in incredible high-definition for a new generation.” We’ll have to judge for ourselves when the game releases, but from the trailer, it doesn’t look pretty good…

Speaking of releases. Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Remastered benefits from a preorder bonus. And while I would typically advocate against them, this one is solid. If you preorder Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare, you’ll be entitled to download Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Remastered on October 5th. That’s an entire month before Infinite Warfare releases on November 4th. Decisions, decisions…

Growing up a 90's kid, Jeff found his love for gaming during Nintendo's heyday. Because of that, you could call him a "Nintendo Fanboy" (albeit a rational one) to this day. Outside of his passion for the gaming industry, he’s also an avid sports enthusiast (New York Giants and Philadelphia Phillies mainly) and enjoys quality/popular TV shows and movies.
