The year is 1968 in the city of New Bordeaux, a town that “survived the War of 1812, the Civil War and god knows how many hurricanes.” But now that town has to deal with Lincoln Clay. And when Lincoln Clay hit the city – and the Italian Mafia – “he inflicted more damage than all those wars and hurricanes combined.” Welcome, folks, to Mafia 3.

2K Games authorized a hit on the new Mafia 3 trailer today, and with it, a release date for the upcoming GTA style mob story. The trailer actually looks really good. I saw “actually” even though I don’t have any experience with the series before, but color me intrigued now. Here’s the game’s plot pulled direct from its Wikipedia page:

“The game takes place in the year of 1968, and revolves around Lincoln Clay, a biracial orphan and Vietnam veteran. As an orphan, he was constantly looking for a family, until he joined the armed forces and fought in the Vietnam War. After the war he returned to New Orleans, and joins “The Black Mob”. After surviving a murder attempt by the Italian mob, Clay attempts to start his own criminal organization and get revenge. Clay is aided by three allies, which include Cassandra, Burke, and Vito Scaletta.”

2K Games also announced the release date for Mafia 3 within the new trailer and some tweets today. The game will be hitting PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC on October 7th. Checkout the “One Way Road” story trailer below.

Growing up a 90's kid, Jeff found his love for gaming during Nintendo's heyday. Because of that, you could call him a "Nintendo Fanboy" (albeit a rational one) to this day. Outside of his passion for the gaming industry, he’s also an avid sports enthusiast (New York Giants and Philadelphia Phillies mainly) and enjoys quality/popular TV shows and movies.
