Those that plan on hitting San Diego Comic Con this weekend can add another item to their bucket list. Marvel plans to release a trailer this weekend for a “brand new show”.

It’s a Bird! It’s a Plane! It’s a Tumblr Teaser For a New Trailer!

Marvel’s Chief Creative Officer of Marvel Entertainment, Joe Quesada, went to his Tumblr blog to reveal some Comic Con plans:

“Fans that attended last year’s panel were treated to a never before seen (and hysterical) 8 minute outtake from Daredevil Season 1 and this year’s panel will be no different.

If you’re a fan of our TV shows I’ll be premiering a trailer for a brand new show we’re working on. This will be the only time at the con that you’ll be able to see it so make sure to get there early.”

The reveal is poised to happen at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday in Room 6A. It’s unclear exactly what Quesada means by “brand new show”. It’s likely that this is a teaser trailer for the upcoming Luke Cage series. That does encapsulate “brand new show”. But Quesada’s quote just feels like he’s teasing something we don’t know about. But really, that’s probably just wishful thinking. Iron Fist has also been filming lately, so I suppose it’s possible we could get a quick teaser trailer for that instead. But we haven’t seen anything of substance from Luke Cage yet, so that’s the far more likely option.

The final tease of Quesada’s blog does state this: “Oh and shhhhhh, don’t tell Jeph Loeb, he’d be so pissed.” Loeb is the Executive Vice President of Marvel Television. He’s been behind many of Marvel’s successful television outings, both live action and animated. So it’s entirely possible I’m barking up the wrong tree on the live action front. Maybe we have something down the animated route coming that no one is expecting? It would be far easier to drop as a surprise if that were the case. I suppose we’ll just have to wait until Saturday to find out…
