With Tiger Wood PGA Tour dead, and Rory McIlroy not exactly running with the baton, fans are clamoring for a solid sim golf experience. Maximum Games tried in 2014 with The Golf Club. It was a decent attempt, but it just wasn’t ready to be a major contender (see what I did there?). The studio is back though with the reveal of The Golf Club 2, and this time they think they’re nailing it.
Tee Time Comes This Spring
One of the outstanding features of The Golf Club was the ability for players to create their own courses. Maximum Games is doubling down on that feature for the sequel. And this time they are also giving users the ability to make their own clubhouses which can be upgradeable over time. In fact, there are a plethora of new features making their way into The Golf Club 2.
The developers are promising “a load of new and improved features including a Career Mode, enhanced Course Creator, competitive Societies, advanced swing mechanic, online tournaments, and more than 100,000 user-generated courses to play.” In fact, The Golf Club 2 is backwards compatible, meaning all of the user-created content you made in the original can be carried over.
Maximum Games dropped a new trailer today showing off all of the key features within the game. Check it out below. The Golf Club 2 will launch on PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC this Spring.
