Sony may have swept in and become the new Call of Duty darling, but Microsoft has its own major franchise to counter with. Thanks to the Xbox One’s adoption of the EA Access program, Star Wars Battlefront will be hitting the Xbox One first.

Microsoft’s Head of Xbox, Phil Spencer, confirmed the news during a Twitter exchange yesterday. When asked yesterday whether Star Wars Battlefront would be a part of EA Access, Spencer stated the following: “Yes you can play SW: Battlefront first on Xbox One, exclusively with @EAAccess“.

So there you have it. Because Xbox One features the ability to utilize EA Access and the PlayStation 4 does not, the Xbox One will be getting Star Wars Battlefront first. That is, of course, if you’re an EA Access subscriber. The program’s rates are $4.99 a month or $29.99 for the year.

Star Wars Battlefront releases on November 17th, unless you’re an EA Access member, which will allow you to download the full title ahead of its official launch.

Growing up a 90's kid, Jeff found his love for gaming during Nintendo's heyday. Because of that, you could call him a "Nintendo Fanboy" (albeit a rational one) to this day. Outside of his passion for the gaming industry, he’s also an avid sports enthusiast (New York Giants and Philadelphia Phillies mainly) and enjoys quality/popular TV shows and movies.
