Minecraft: Story Mode Episode 2

In a surprise move, Telltale Games has announced this morning that Minecraft: Story Mode Episode 2 “Assembly Required” is available today for download on most platforms.

Episode 1 “The Order of the Stone” released just two weeks ago on October 13th. Telltale tends to put a good amount of time (at least a month) in-between their series’ episodic releases. So it comes as a bit of a surprise that the 2nd episode of Minecraft: Story Mode comes out just two weeks after the first episode dropped.

The Minecraft: Story Mode season pass disc is also available today at retail. The disc will have Episode 1 on it, allow immediate access to Episode 2, and enable those that purchase it to download the series’ remaining Season 1 Episodes free of charge. The disc is available for Xbox One, Xbox 360, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3 in North America.

Here is what Kevin Bruner, CEO and Co-Founder of Telltale Games, had to say about the Minecraft: Story Mode series thus far:

“Premiering Minecraft: Story Mode this month, we’ve been overjoyed by the reception from both the Minecraft community and fans of Telltale across the world diving into the all-ages adventure and making key decisions that will craft their own stories throughout the rest of the season. This week, we’re happy to offer the game on a special disc at retailers worldwide, including access to the thrilling second episode, ‘Assembly Required,’ which will feel like a completely different chapter for players depending on their paths taken in episode one.”

Minecraft: Story Mode Episode 2 “Assembly Required” is available today on Xbox One, Xbox 360, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3 and PC. It will also be headed to iOS, Android and Wii U, but no dates have been given yet.
