French developer Leikir Studio has released a new trailer for their upcoming multiplayer top-down shooter Wondershot. The new trailer, which can be seen below, shows off the weapons players can use both competitively and cooperatively. Gamers will be able to check out the different combat options for themselves soon as the game launches on Xbox One and PC on February 19, while the PlayStation 4 release comes a few days later on February 23.
The four different weapons in Wondershot that players can use are a bow, boomerang, hammer, and slingshot. Each weapon has their own special abilities that will add a layer of depth to the fast-paced multiplayer action.

While the game’s focus is on competitive play, the digital download will also sometimes encourage cooperation. Each of the game’s environments has waves of different foes that will appear during the game. Players can then team-up to defeat the common enemy, or test their luck by letting them run amok.
Wondershot is the second game from the Paris-based game developer. Leikir Studio previously released Isbarah in 2015. The 2D bullet hell shooter received praise when it released on PC last year, and was a strong start for such a young new company.
Now they’ll try to carry on their positive momentum into 2016 with Wondershot. While the game looks to be plenty of fun judging from the trailer that we’ve posted above, it’s hard not to wonder if the game won’t get lost in the shuffle. There have been a lot of local multiplayer games released in the past year, and it’s becoming increasingly more difficult to stand out. What was once a small niche full of opportunities has quickly become overfilled with game releases.
Either way, you can check out Wondershot for yourself when it releases February 19 on Xbox One and Steam, and February 23 on PlayStation 4.
