Assassin's Creed Syndicate

Set in the Victorian Era London (more on that in a bit), Assassin’s Creed Syndicate has a plethora of influential historical figures to pull from. The latest trailer from Ubisoft shows us who has made the cut and will align with Jacob and Evie Frye within the game.

Judith Flanders, a historian and advisor on Assassin’s Creed Syndicate, appropriately handles the narration in this one. She starts off by setting the scene: “By 1868, London was the center of the largest empire the world had ever known. The city attracted the greatest thinkers from all parts of the world. Each an ally who will help you fight against exploitation.”

The trailer doesn’t give much away as to what our historical pals will be doing to aid in our quest, but we do get the who of the matter. Alexander Graham Bell, Scottish inventor and engineer, creator of the original telephone, does however give us a bit of gameplay help. He will be lending us an electrical stun bomb of sorts which will discombobulate our foes.

The rest of our historical all-star crew comes and goes quickly. Karl Marx is onboard to encourage our heroes to aid in the fight of the working man. Charles Darwin helps by asking the people of London to see things differently and to look for change. Charles Dickens tires to enlighten society by shedding light on the plight of the poor with his works like Oliver Twist.

“By 1868, London was the center of the largest empire the world had ever known. The city attracted the greatest thinkers from all parts of the world. Each an ally who will help you fight against exploitation.”

Florence Nightingale aids us medically, proving that nursing should be a mainstream profession and not something relegated to the home. And finally, Queen Victoria, “the Grandmother of Europe” and for whom the era of Assassin’s Creed Syndicate is named, throws her support behind our heroes and asks that they “foil this traitorous plot.”

Watch the below trailer to see it all for yourself. Also revealed is The Darwin and Dickens Conspiracy DLC, which apparently will be a free add-on for all those who preorder Assassin’s Creed Syndicate through Amazon.

Assassin’s Creed Syndicate takes us back to Victorian Era London on October 23rd for Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and PC.
