Another day, another Destiny: The Taken King news update. Two changes have been announced for the upcoming “major” expansion for Destiny.

One of the minor updates are that, Ghosts (your robotic floating sidekick) are set to become more than just an afterthought. In an interview with GameInformer, the magazine revealed that players will be able to change the shell of their Ghosts.

It’s important to note that this isn’t just an aesthetic change. Each shell found throughout the world comes with different stat-boosters and increases the player’s light level. That’s quite the shake up to the main game. Certain shells you collect will even go so far as to offer unique perks, such as increasing Glimmer found or helping with farming materials.

The other change coming involves Destiny’s illusive salesman, Xur. A new type of item will be available in The Taken King called the Three of Coins, which players can purchase to boost their chances of getting an Exotic drop the next time they challenge a boss. Everyone want’s those exotic drops, so it’s nice to see Bungie playing to the crowd (like they have done a ton with Destiny.)

The Taken King expansion is set to release on September 15 for Xbox One, PS4, PS3, and Xbox 360. There will be multiple versions available for purchase.
