While Futurama may have ended over two years ago, there’s still plenty of life left in the franchises blood. Mobile game developer, Wooga, has announced they have a Futurama based title on the way in the form of Futurama: Game of Drones.

The play on words is obvious, and apparently appropriate, given that Jonathan Myers of Facebook’s Game of Thrones: Ascent is part of the core writing team on the game. Also on board to write for Futurama: Game of Drones are Dave Grossman of Secret of Monkey Island and The Wolf Among Us, and Patric M. Verrone of the original Futurama writing team.

Wooga states that Futurama: Game of Drones “takes players on a journey with the Planet Express crew as they fight a desperately imbalanced trade war against longtime shipping rival MomCo. While delivering dangerous cargo to hazardous locations under ill-advised circumstances, players connect groups of delivery drones to solve an array of fiendish puzzles as they venture into iconic environments from the Futurama universe.”

There are no concrete details on when Futurama: Game of Drones plans to release, or even when we can expect a trailer. But as soon as the Planet Express crew delivers us additional news, we’ll be sure to send it over your way.

Growing up a 90's kid, Jeff found his love for gaming during Nintendo's heyday. Because of that, you could call him a "Nintendo Fanboy" (albeit a rational one) to this day. Outside of his passion for the gaming industry, he’s also an avid sports enthusiast (New York Giants and Philadelphia Phillies mainly) and enjoys quality/popular TV shows and movies.
