Activision has released a new trailer for Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 5, and with it, the title’s pending release date.

The minute long trailer hits all the beats you might expect. The Birdman and friends skate around various parks doing various acrobatics while random graphics inform us as to the title’s features. You can “Be a Pro” and play as actual pro skateboarders, or instead “Be Yourself” and go with a custom created skater.

You’ll then be able to take our pro or custom skaters and “Build Your Park”, giving us control on exactly what lines we want to crush. Of course, you can instead “Drop in with Friends”, and play online with your skater pals.

Here’s the thing though… The trailer for Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 5 just doesn’t look good. The game is current generation only, so the lack of graphical prowess is something that just can’t be explained. When the game was revealed back in May I noted how it had plenty of room for improvement. It just hasn’t happened apparently, granted that was only a couple of months ago. Don’t judge a book by its cover I suppose…

The trailer concludes by informing us that Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 5 will be hitting the Xbox One and PlayStation 4 on September 29th. Which, might I add, doesn’t leave much room for polishing those boards.

Growing up a 90's kid, Jeff found his love for gaming during Nintendo's heyday. Because of that, you could call him a "Nintendo Fanboy" (albeit a rational one) to this day. Outside of his passion for the gaming industry, he’s also an avid sports enthusiast (New York Giants and Philadelphia Phillies mainly) and enjoys quality/popular TV shows and movies.
