Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare

The Call of Duty series is primarily developed by just a few development teams. Chief amongst them are Infinity Ward, Sledgehammer Games and Treyarch. They typically take turns releasing their games with the assistance of a few other development squads interspersed. Infinity Ward released 2013’s Call of Duty: Ghosts, Sledgehammer Games handled 2014’s Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare, and the latest game in the series, Call of Duty: Black Ops III, was developed by Treyarch. Next up is Infinity Ward again, which makes today’s news leak of the next entry’s title all the sweeter. Activision and Infinity Ward plan to present to us: Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare.

Yes, someone being paid a great deal of money decided that a Infinity Ward developed game should be entitled Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare. But I digress, onto actual news. Jim Sterling posted onto Twitter today that a retailer source confirmed it was just a matter of days until the next Call of Duty entry would be fully revealed:

Then on Reddit a user posted a screen grab that they were able to pull from the PlayStation Store in the UK:

Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare LeakIt could easily be faked, and it certainly isn’t there now, but where there’s smoke there is typically fire. Unless you’re trying to figure out what the hell the Nintendo NX controller looks like… Anyway, we should have more concrete details in just a matter of days as to what the next Call of Duty title is. But as of now, we’re going to assume that it’s Call of Duty: Infinite War and whatever that means to the franchise. I’m just really hoping for the cross-promotion with Disney that allows access to the Buzz Lightyear skin and karate chop. Keep your fingers crossed.

Growing up a 90's kid, Jeff found his love for gaming during Nintendo's heyday. Because of that, you could call him a "Nintendo Fanboy" (albeit a rational one) to this day. Outside of his passion for the gaming industry, he’s also an avid sports enthusiast (New York Giants and Philadelphia Phillies mainly) and enjoys quality/popular TV shows and movies.
