Nintendo has held strong to the fact that we won’t learn anymore about the Switch until January. However, some fans have been holding out hope that Nintendo would do something special for The Game Awards later this week. Turns out, they ‘re both right. While we won’t be getting anything directly Switch related, Nintendo did confirm we’ll be getting another look at The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild on Thursday night.
Wait, Isn’t This Exactly What They Did Last Year?
Well, yes. At least year’s The Game Awards Shigeru Miyamoto and Eiji Aonuma sent a video along to show them demoing a bit of Hyrule field from Breath of the Wild. However, since then, we’ve seen a lot more of the game. Nintendo essentially centered its entire E3 presence on the gigantic game. So, what could they possibly do this year that wouldn’t be more of the same?
Nintendo didn’t confirm exactly what they’re plans were for the show. They only published the following Tweet:

“An exclusive look at The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild.” That’s all we have to go off of. It could be a brand new trailer. It could be a few minutes in which Nintendo blows the doors off some of the game’s secrets. We’ll have to wait until Thursday to know for sure. Let’s just hope we get a tease of something good. Because January seems so very far away at this point.
