Bill Trinen revealed a new way to find Super Mario Maker levels during the recent Nintendo Direct. Nintendo’s Senior Product Marketing Manager showed off a new website Nintendo has crafted which will enable us to search for specific level types and send them to our console for later play.
Bill explained that “with so many [stages] to choose from, some players are finding it difficult to pick which courses they want to play. So, we’ve decided to release a new portal site that you can access on the go.” The site will feature an in-depth search engine that will be able to pick out exactly the type of Super Mario Maker stage you’re looking for. Bill specifically mentions that there will be sorting functionality for auto playing and musical levels. So, if you’re like me and fatigued by the amount of them typically in the Top 50, you can weed those right out.
While utilizing the site on your PC or mobile device, you’ll be able to send the code to your console. Once you boot Super Mario Maker back up, the level will then be featured in the soon to be implemented Web Portal tab on the level select screen. While it would be better if this feature was in Super Mario Maker itself, we’ll take it. No word yet as to exactly when the Super Mario Maker search site will be live, but they did say December.
