Two weeks, two Directs. Nintendo and The Pokémon Company hosted a Pokémon-centric Direct last week to celebrate the franchise’s 20th anniversary, as well as to reveal the existence of Pokémon Sun and Pokémon Moon for later this year on Nintendo 3DS. Now, a new Nintendo Direct is planned for tomorrow, with tad less Pokémon I’m assuming.
The next Nintendo Direct is scheduled for tomorrow, March 3rd at 2:00 p.m. Pacific, 5:00 p.m. Eastern. Nintendo states that the event will relay “updates on Wii U and Nintendo 3DS titles planned for launch through summer 2016. The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess HD releases on March 4th, so you would assume that will get a few moments in the spotlight. Pokkén Tournament is scheduled for March 18th, and wasn’t mentioned in the Pokémon Direct, so that’s a safe bet to be seen as well.
This may be the coming out party for Star Fox Zero. With a release date of April 22nd (for now), there likely won’t be another opportunity for Nintendo to showcase the game ahead of its release. It’s put up or shut up time for McCloud and company. As far as the 3DS goes, Hyrule Warriors Legends releases on March 24th, so we may get a final glimpse at that. And Bravely Second: End Layer hits the system on April 16th, so that’s likely to get a mention as well.
This is all speculation at this point, of course, we won’t know anything until we’re greeting by a beaming Nintendo face tomorrow afternoon. But one thing is for certain, Nintendo’s site confirms that “the presentation will not include any updates on NX or mobile.” So let’s squash any hopes you had of that right now. Once the Nintendo Direct drops, we’ll be here at VPDaily.com to break it all down for you.
