We all know that Nintendo has pushed back The Legend of Zelda for Wii U to an unknown part of 2016. This has left a gaping hole in their 2015 holiday catalogue, especially now that Star Fox Zero is out of the mix as well. But what if Nintendo had another trick up their sleeve? Something along the lines of, say, The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess HD?
Rumors began circulating after an icon briefly appeared on the Nintendo eShop a few days back. It was assumed the icon was just representative of a Twilight Princess port, and thus, wasn’t a big deal. Still, it was bewildering to those that found it:

But more recently, and here’s the kicker, users scouring the Nintendo eShop servers were able to locate a listing that specifically mentions “THE LEGEND OF ZELDA Twilight Princess HD”:
It’s kind of hard to refute that, eh? Various outlets have reached out to Nintendo for a comment on the situation, but they have all been rebutted with the typical non-denials. It would make sense for Nintendo to get something like The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess HD out as fast as possible. Again, their holiday lineup is a bit lacking. Something like The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess HD would divert attention from a lacking Christmas, while simultaneously making the wait more bearable for the Wii U (or NX) version of The Legend of Zelda.
But then again, the Christmas season is only a few weeks away. The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess HD would need to be revealed pretty quickly to make that window. Hopefully we’ll get a Nintendo Direct sometime soon, we’re well overdue…
