Great news everybody.
Hello Games’ No Man’s Sky has officially gone gold! What does that mean you ask? Well, it means that the version that will be printed on discs (or downloaded) is finally complete and ready to be shipped out into the world. This means No Man’s Sky will be hitting stores on August 9 without anymore delays.
The team at Hello Games celebrated the momentous achievement by taking a studio selfie. It warms my heart to see such a small team work on something so ambitious and put all of their heart and soul into it.
Hello Games and No Man’s Sky have had a turbulent time getting to this point. The game was delayed by seven weeks back in May. People were so upset that they began hurling death threats at developer Sean Murray. (It was gross)
While this is an absolutely incredible achievement (congrats to the team), they’re not out of the woods yet. The game will likely require patches and maintenance after going online, and It is yet to be seen how audiences will take to the game, but what a great day for the studio.
No Man’s Sky will be available on August 9 on PlayStation 4 and PC.
