Confirmed to Eurogamer today, Nintendo’s Shigeru Miyamoto has revealed that Pikmin 4 is “very close to completion.” During an interview back in July, a top designer working with Nintendo publicized that Pikmin 4 was in progress, but we hadn’t heard much since.

With Pikmin 3 being launched for the Wii U in 2013, fans of this franchise have been questioning its newest release. They have finally acquired some answers, though no platform has yet been specified.

Though confirmed that the newest addition is in development, Nintendo declares that “it is all we can confirm at the present,” leaving avid players at the edge of their seats.

The ultimate goal of this tactical series is to lead a smaller army of explorers to save their dwindling home planet. The game essentially tests your strategic methods and how well you manage time. With stylish visuals creating an entertaining environment, players can only hope to experience something similar in Pikmin 4.

With previous publications of this franchise released on the Wii U and, before that, the GameCube, fans are inquiring whether or not this title may launch on the upcoming NX console (Nintendo’s next platform). It’s uncertain due to the fact that the new console isn’t set to be released until sometime in 2016. With Nintendo assuring us that Pikmin 4 is close to completion, it is hopeful it will be available to play before then.
