In an interview with Fox News it appears that Gamestop CEO Paul Rimes may have leaked the release window of PlayStation VR. When asked about VR he stated that Gamestop is preparing and that they “will launch the Sony product this fall” when refering to PlayStation VR. Rumors were circulating that the PlayStation VR would actually release sometime this Spring but that appears to be untrue at least from a retail side. It is possible that like Oculus, PlayStation VR releases online first before arriving at retail later but that seems unlikely. Sony will most likely prefer a big launch featuring both online and brick and mortar vendors. This window also makes sense given that Sony needs to have a bunch of VR games ready before they ship the device. There is no official word yet from Sony nor any pricing information but it seems Paul Rimes may have stolen a bit of Sony’s thunder.
