Did anyone see this one coming? Publisher Big Star Games has announced today that they’ve acquired the Reservoir Dogs license from Lionsgate to release an upcoming game. And that release is just around the corner.
“A Shockingly Violent, Addictive, Adrenaline-Filled Masterpiece”
Reservoir Dogs: Bloody Days is indeed based on the cult-favorite Tarantino film. But it doesn’t exactly follow the same premise. Big Star Games describes it as a “highly-addictive video game that stays true to the tense, dramatic and bloody vibe of Reservoir Dogs film, with a truly innovative gameplay mechanic.” That mechanic? Time travel. No, seriously:
“A new trailer released today explains Reservoir Dogs: Bloody Days’ original “Time Rewind” gameplay mechanic, a time-bending twist that lets players turn back the clock and control each member of the team in overlapping bursts of action. Time Rewind adds a new level of strategy to every heist, creating unique opportunities for careful tactics and improvised chaos that can turn the tide in a firefight.”
The game is a single-player endeavor taking place over the span of 18 different jobs. The Dogs will take down banks, docks, nightclubs and more. Big Star Games describes it as “a shockingly violent, addictive, adrenaline-filled masterpiece that toys with time, just as Quentin Tarantino’s landmark film did 25 years ago.” Big shoes to fill for Big Star Games.
Reservoir Dogs: Bloody Days is coming to PC via Steam in just a month – May 18th. It’s slated to hit Xbox One later this year. Watch the crew take on the bank – multiple times – in the trailer below.
