Everyone’s favorite soccer game with trucks in it, Rocket League, will be receiving a patch later this month with a bunch of cool new tweaks. Perhaps the most exciting change in patch 1.05 is the ability to go right into another ranked multiplayer match after one has ended.
Other changes include the ability for PC players to filter PS4 players out of their matchmaking search, the competitive season will finally begin, and the newest map, Utopia, will be getting updated.
Fans of the game’s highly customizable rocket propelled cars will be glad to find out that several new flags will be unlockable once the new update hits. These flags include an Attack flag based off Kevin Pereira’s popular podcast, and two new flags based off Medieval warfare.
Rocket League was the surprise hit of July on both PC and PlayStation 4. The Psyonix Studios developed sports title features cross-play between platforms, and gained popularity by releasing free on PlayStation Plus. The game’s first major update and DLC pack, Supersonic Fury, released last month and added new cars, a stadium and several important tweaks to matchmaking.
This is yet another worthwhile free content update for Rocket League. If Psyonix Studios continues to add additional maps, it will be hard for its dedicated fanbase to put down their controllers.
