Nobody has any idea what’s going on at Konami. Earlier this year, there were reports about internal struggles between Hideo Kojima and the company. Since then, people have begun speculating on what the future of the company is and more specifically, Hideo Kojima projects.
Today, Konami issued a statement that Silent Hiils has officially been cancelled. Silent Hills was a planned survival-horror game being developed by Kojima. Kojima was working with director Guillermo del Toro (Pan’s Labyrinth, Pacific Rim) and the game was set to star Walking Dead actor, Norman Reedus.
Konami is committed to new Silent Hill titles
The statement says that “Konami is committed to new Silent Hill titles, however the embryonic Silent Hills project developed with Guillermo del Toro and featuring the likeness of Norman Reedus will not be continued.”
This comes hot off the heels of the announcement that P.T was being pulled from the PlayStation store. P.T or Playable Teaser was announced at E3 2014. The game’s ending revealed a teaser trailer for Silent Hills. If you haven’t yet, you should definitely go and download P.T before its removed from the PlayStation Store (April 29). It’s one of the best horror “experiences” games has to offer.
