With a brief post on their blog, Ubisoft announced that South Park: The Fractured But Whole won’t see the light of day until Q1 2017. Little is known about the reasons that lead to the delay. The post mentioned the attention the game had attracted and assured all fans that the development team is hard at work to solve any issues and deliver a polished and enjoyable experience.

A game Surrounded by Expectations and Hype

South Park: The Fractured But Whole might easily be the most marketed Ubisoft title for the current year. It all started with the game’s announcement, during the flamboyant Ubisoft Press Event at E3 2016. The developers then proceeded to enact a heavy marketing policy. This culminated with the announcement of the Nosulus Rift a few days before Gamescom. Fans are expecting great things from this game.

It is not uncommon for developers to delay their titles only months prior to release. More and more publishers will gladly make sure that their project is up to scratch before letting it loose on the global market. Our hope is that the additional time will benefit the game.

South Park: The Fractured But Whole will be available on XBOX, PS4, and PC. At this time, we no longer have a precise release date.
