Moments ago, Nintendo of America released a statement on their Facebook about the upcoming Wii U title, Star Fox Zero.

In the post, Star Fox Zero game developer and industry veteran, Shigeru Miyamoto discussed that the upcoming Wii U title needed more polish, and thus will not be releasing this holiday season as originally planned.

“We have been developing Star Fox Zero for Wii U with the aim of releasing it this year. Although we felt that the development had been progressing well, we now believe that we will need a little more time to work on areas such as the unprecedented discovery that we want players to experience in the game by using two screens, and further polishing the level designs and perfecting the tone of the cut scenes.”

Miyamoto then goes on to issue an apology and to tell fans that they can expect Star Fox Zero sometime in Q1 2016.

Delays are common in the video game industry, but you don’t see them too often with Nintendo. If Star Fox Zero becomes a better game because of the delay, then I say it’s worth the wait.
