Great news Star Wars: The Old Republic fans, EA has announced that a new expansion is on the way. The next expansion for Star Wars: The Old Republic will be called Knights of the Eternal Throne, and it will be launching later this year.

While there’s not a ton of information about the expansion yet, we do know that it will be coming “Fall 2016.” If you head on over to the game’s official website, you can sign up to be the first to learn about any new updates.

It’s incredible to think that The Old Republic is already five years old. To commemorate, Bioware has released an infographic giving us some information on how people have been playing the game.

Some of the more interesting stats from the graphic are that there have been 87 million characters created so far, and players have spent over 1.5 billion hours in the game. The most recruited companions are Lana Beniko and Vette, and 53 percent of people chose to channel the light side rather than embrace the dark.

Have you gotten a chance to check out The Old Republic yet? I played the game when it first launched five years ago, but quickly fell off. With the game now being free-to-play, and with Bioware continuously supporting it, now might be a good time to jump back in!
