In what you would think is the most obvious pairing the history of gaming, the Wii U edition of Minecraft is getting Super Mario themed additions. Dubbed the “Super Mario Mash Up Pack!”, the content will be coming exclusively to the Wii U this month – and free.
The Super Mario Mash Up Pack will land on May 17th, however, a month later a $30 retail edition of the content will be landing in stores. This, of course, includes the entire Minecraft Wii U title in addition to the Mash Up Pack content. The new content pack features iconic Mario Bros. character skins, as well as enemies, items, and plethora of the series’ iconic music. “For the first time ever,” says Nintendo, “players will be able to fend off blocky Hammer Bros. and Dry Bones the same way they do Creepers and Zombies.”
Nintendo issued a new trailer today to hype up the upcoming content. Take a peek below and see for yourself why perhaps Minecraft’s Wii U delay may have been Toadally worth it.
