Bandai Namco Entertainment America has released a new trailer for Sword Art Online: Lost Song. The new trailer, which focuses on the game’s story, comes ahead of the JRPG’s November 17 release date. Sword Art Online: Lost Song is a sequel to the anime series’ previous video game adaptation Sword Art Online: Hollow Fragment.

Similar to Hollow FragmentSword Art Online: Lost Song will be released on both PlayStation 4 and Vita. Value minded gamers might want to pick up the PlayStation Vita version, as it’s priced at $39.99 compared to the console version’s $59.99 price tag.

For the first time in a Sword Art Online game, players will be able to play as a different character than series protagonist Kirito. In fact, there are over 15 playable characters to choose from, and if that isn’t enough you can even create your own protagonist.

Sword Art Online has the unique setting of taking place in a virtual MMO. You can see where you’ll be battling enemies and levelling up in the new trailer that we’ve embedded below.

Fans will be glad to know that Bandai Namco has already announced the next game in the Sword Art Online series called Hollow RealizationHollow Realization will launch in 2016 in Japan, while a North American release date has not been announced yet.

Sword Art Online has been a huge hit in both Japan and North America, so it’s only natural for Bandai Namco to continue bringing over the series to North America. Lost Song looks to be a huge improvement upon Hollow Fragment, which was showing both its age and PSP roots when it released last year.

We’ll have more on Sword Art Online: Lost Song as its release approaches on November 17.

Tyler has enjoyed video games, both large and small, ever since he was a child with a Sega Genesis controller in hand. When he isn’t playing through strange retro games like Snoopy’s Silly Sports Spectacular, he can be found meditating under a waterfall to grow his beard or eating pizza. Probably the latter.
