With Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 hitting theaters on May 5th, it’s only fitting that Telltale’s take on the property release in the same vicinity. Brand cohesion and what not. So, in a move that is likely to ride the film’s coattails, Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy: The Telltale Series will hit systems just two weeks before the movie hits cinemas.
“The Mad Titan has Joined the Ring”
Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy: The Telltale Series will release its first episode, ‘Tangled Up in Blue’, on April 18th. It will cost $4.99 and be available for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PC, iOS, and Android-based devices. The retail box edition of the season pass will be available as of May 2nd.
Also disclosed today is the identity of one of the game’s villains: Thanos. This isn’t shocking, of course. Thanos is a major component of the Guardians of the Galaxy. But it’s a little surprising to see him revealed so early in the series. This is only episode one of five, so it’s intriguing to see what the series builds towards as a climax.
Telltale also confirmed that a new trailer for the game will be hitting the web on Thursday. So check back in then and we’ll have it here waiting for you. Until then, take a look at the pretty art Telltale has provided.
